Pragmatic CSO Podcast #1

Submitted by Mike Rothman on Fri, 2008-01-11 11:47.

After some juking and jiving, I figured out (hopefully) how to get this podcast thing working. So it is with great pleasure that I present the "Pragmatic CSO Podcast #1." It's a bit shy of 10 minutes (as promised) and it provides an overview of the podcast and the Pragmatic CSO methodology, as well as why it's important given the nature of today's attackers and corporate IT philosophies.

Most of all I end with a message of hope. It's a new year and we ended last year in a funk. It's time to turn things around and get focused on making progress, not all the reasons why we can't make progress.

Below you can download the podcast directly, or subscribe to the feed. It'll be up on iTunes today (I hope), so you could new shows that way as well.

Given this is my first shot out of the blocks, I'm also interested in your feedback on the show. Does it suck? Will you listen again? Do you wish I didn't sound like a gangster? Just leave me a comment or send me a note.

Enjoy your weekend.

I enjoyed listing to the podcast and I wholeheartedly support the premise that a short podcast with a clear message is much better than one in which a few people chew rags for hours. The message is also clear, and I am a firm believer in it myself. I usually phrase it as "better is worse than good enough!" Looking forward to the next one!

Mike,

Enjoyed the podcast, although I'm curious if you are running for President with that infectious message of HOPE!!!:)

Thanks Tim,

But there are way too many skeletons in my closet to even think about public office. I hear the skeletons don't like to be disturbed.
